Hello I’m David and Merry Christmas everyone
This reading is from the Dominican proclamation of our Lords Nativity on Christmas Day at Midnight Mass.
> Today, the 25th day of December, unknown ages from the time when God created the heavens and the earth and then formed man and woman in his own image.
>
> Several thousand years after the flood, when God made the rainbow shine forth as a sign of the covenant.
> 21 centuries from the time of Abraham and Sarah;
> 13th centuries after Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt.
> 1100 years from the time of Ruth and the judges;
> 1000 years from the anointing of David as king;
> in the 65th week according to the prophecy of Daniel.
>
> In the 194th Olympiad;
> the 752nd year from the foundation of the city of Rome.
> The 42nd year of the reign of Octavian Augustus;
>
> the whole world being at peace, Jesus Christ, eternal God and son of the eternal father, desiring to sanctify the world by his most merciful coming, being conceived by the Holy Spirit, and nine months having passed since his conception, Was born in Bethlehem of Judea of the Virgin Mary and became man!
>
> Today is the nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the flesh.”
Every time i read this or hear it read, I’m moved to tears.
To me, this is THAT good!
This formal proclamation of the Birth of Christ is traditionally chanted or recited just before the beginning of the Christmas Midnight mass and or during the Liturgy of the Hours on Christmas Eve.
The text, comes to us from the Roman Martyrology which has its main source coming from Martyrology of Usuard from the 7th century.
Which is to say, a long list of people have been celebrating this blessed day.
In todays brief MOJO minute, let us contemplate the Jesus Christ in our own lives.
Let us adore the King of Kings today.
Let us rejoice in his birth which changed the world forever!
And it can change you and me.
So from our MOJO family to yours.
May you rejoice in the miracle, the gift and the promise of Christmas!
Have a blessed Merry Christmas everyone!
