Hello, I'm David and welcome back to another Mojo minute. I'm from Columbus, Ohio, in the home of Jack Nicklaus in a memorial tournament. Having been born and grew up here in Columbus I've studied up on the great Jack Nicklaus the Golden Bear and how he approached the game of golf as well as the game of life. He once remarked that quote, the worship performing. The more you must work mentally and emotionally. The greatest and toughest art in golf is playing badly well, all the true greats have been masters of it. We are on the cusp of another Memorial tournament. And we will crown a new champion, and most likely that champion will have done just what Nicholas said was crucial. They will have championed the art of playing badly well. But imagine the great Jack Nicklaus hitting a golf shot and thinking in his head, quote, wow, I didn't mean that there at all, then walking and talking to himself mentally to the next golf shot, hitting that golf shot and thinking, really, this is not going very well at all. Now imagine going on for three or four days, which is what the professional tour schedule is like, they play Thursday through Sunday. You might be lucky to make it to the weekend. Now let's come back to you. Has this happened to you on the field of play or in the game of sport. Perhaps it's in the game of golf. How about in your work. Perhaps saying boy that presentation didn't go well. How did you react, how do you talk to yourself when things are going bad. How do you talk to yourself when things are going well at work in your marriage with your kids, with your family. The art of playing badly well separates the greats from the average and competition, and in life. Some ways to improve in this art mentally and emotionally is expect the mistakes. We all have them. Nobody is perfect. The great tadam and your high will have them rough patches will be there. So create expectations in your mind that when they come, you expect them, no big deal. Concentrate on your fundamentals, and number two. Next, watch for those destructive habits, or that so called kryptonite. In the game of life, these bad habits almost seem to present themselves when you're not at your best. It's a good versus evil thing. More on that another Mojo minute, but grow in your awareness of your triggers. When these bad habits surface. And you will steer clear of these transgressions. So in today's Mojo minute we learned from Jack Nicklaus that the Great's learn to play badly. Well, we learned some ways to help us navigate through these rough patches in life. And let us end with a quote from another great golfer, Arnold Palmer, the king, which was his nickname. The road to success is always under construction, he said. So from the King to the Golden Bear let us apply their golf wisdom to our game of life. Hit them straight, keep it out of the rough and learn to play badly. Well,
