LM#30--The Long Slide of Cable Journalism Ends

In todays Liberty Minute 🗽, we review cable journalism's major earthquake that happened two weeks ago---the firing of Tucker Carlson by Fox News.

To gain some insight, we review Tuckers speech at the 50th anniversary of the Heritage foundation the weekend before his firing and we review his latest book published in 2021, The Long Slide:  Thirty Years in American Journalism.

Key Points from the Episode:

  • Tuckers most profound three quotes from the Heritage speech
  • His view of the long slide of journalistic standards and how traditional journalism is dead at most places in the U.S.
  • No matter if you loved him or hated him, you watched...the ratings spoke for themselves.
  • Tuckers final view that one should always pursue the truth wherever it takes you--which is refreshing in a country starving for the truth.
  • This firing bookends the end of cable journalism.
